Support for Holdem Manager 1 Ending April 30

If you haven't heard, Holdem Manager has announced on its blog that it will end support of Holdem Manager 1 on April 30, 2014.  Holdem Manager 1 was originally released in 2006 and has had thousands of updates since then.  In fact, over 100 updates have been pushed to HM1 since the release of HM2 2.5 years ago.  Since it has been a long time since HM2 has been released, the HM team has decided to invest all of its resources to advance their new products instead of using resources to support older software.

If you are currently using Holdem Manager 1, what this news means for you is that you will need to upgrade to Holdem Manager 2 or continue using Holdem Manager 1 without technical support or updates.

While you can opt to continue using HM1, it is not recommended to do so since sites are constantly changing features and adding new games, making it likely for the software not to be fully compatible with all of the poker games you are playing going forward.  Even though support will be discontinued, the HM1 FAQ will still be available on Holdem Manager's website, allowing you to solve problems that are unrelated to poker room changes.

If you decide to upgrade before April 30, as an HM1 subscriber, you are eligible for a 40% discount.  This discount will not be available after this time, so it is recommended that you upgrade today.

Rest assured that you will not lose your HM1 hand histories and statistics if you upgrade to the newer software, as there is an import tool to bring all of your data with you.  The automated tool will migrate your hand histories, notes, player ratings, and other details to HM2, allowing you to use the new software without losing a beat.

If you're thinking about whether to upgrade, you should consider how truly awesome the new software is compared to HM1.  For example, bulk hand imports are now at least five times faster to appear in your database.

Some of the completely new features include street-by-street HUD updates during live play, Versus Hero stats showing how your opponents play against you, new HUD pop-up designs, and many pre-configured HUDs.

Also incredibly helpful are the NoteCaddy automated notes, which provide you with details and insight on how your opponent is playing.

You can check out HM2 for free for 30 days to see how much better it is than HM1.  If you have already used your free trial, Holdem Manager is graciously allowing you to try the new software again before you decide to upgrade.  Regardless of whether you decide to take advantage of this free trial, the 40% discount will end on April 30.  So hurry up and check out Holdem Manager 2 today!
